Harry
wasn't at Mardi Gras, but we had fun all the same. 
Was there ever any doubt?
The
Jazz Festival is coming up and Harry and his big band will be
performing on Thurdsay, May 4th at the Municipal Auditorium. The show
starts at 9 PM and tickets are $35 and $45. 
I really wish I could go. I am sure that New Orleans is even more beautiful without all that Mardi Gras garbage. And, man, was there A LOT of garbage!
I was hoping to meet someone who is actually FROM New Orleans that I could stay with, but no such luck. I didn't meet ONE person from NO while I was there. Amazing, isn't it?
I am still planning a sub-site dedicated to Harry. Some of my friends think this is, by far, the craziest idea I have ever had (no counting that time when we all got arrested......) and I'm getting a lot of flack for it. But I am determined. Wait until you see the collection of stuff I've got! If anyone has anything else to send me, or knows of other sources of Harry memorabilia, let me know. I'd love to see it.
TECHIE JUNK:
My
Visor didn't make
it to Mardi Gras. I knew I'd have more to do than I'd have time for,
so I just left it at home. I trucked around enough equipment that
way it was.
You know what's really sad? I kinda missed it. I need to take everyone's advice and find a good therapist!

TEXAS:
I didn't make it to Smithville's Festival of Lights in December. I wish I could have. I would love to visit, and maybe make it my home someday. The small town simplicity fascinates me. .... And, it's a mere SIX HOUR drive to New Orleans....
Of course, there's always Dallas........
Well, I
know that everyone is disappointed with me because it has taken me so
damned long to
post those Mardi Gras pictures. I'm sorry about
that. It's just that I have been so darned busy, that I
haven't had the time.
I don't know if everyone knows, but I started a new job two months ago with a civil engineering consultant firm in Des Moines. My job is amazing, and I haven't ever worked with such wonderful people. It has turned out to be the opportunity of a life-time! The two men that I work for, Perry & Eric, are so much more than anyone deserves in a boss. They're great!
The only "bad" thing about my job is that we are tremendously busy. Getting back into engineering has been a good move for me, but .....TO BE CONTINUED
LEXI:
Lexi stayed with my folks while I was on vacation, and it turned out to be pretty bad. She is a little more energetic that my parents' 8 year old dalmation. Lexi ended up being a little more than they expected. She kept my dad on his toes, and my mom knee-deep in sponges and soap. Sorry mom!

funny. You know I bought Katie her own domain name for her
birthday. Well, I went a little crazy. This months Linux
Journal had a blurb about great domain names that haven't been
taken. So,.....we got http://www.linuxgoddess.com
I can't believe someone didn't snag this already!
Okay, okay, I know I'm not a linux goddess, but someday I may be. And in the mean time I wouldn't want someone stealing my fame and fortune....
