HARRY:
There
has been a little bit of controversey on Harry's "Official ...Fan
Site."
Chris
Eng, the guy who supports the site, has decided that he must remove
the "OFFICIAL" part of the site. He wants to keep posting
every little tidbit that he receives regarding Harry, and since some of it
may or may not be true, the "OFFICIAL" status is hindering
him.
Apparently, to consider the site the "Official Harry Connick Jr. Fan Site" , Chris must print only proven factual stories approved by his publicist and/or management, and he doesn't want to do that. Kudos to him! We all like the rumors, and how the hell else are we going to find out about the stuff that his publicist DOESN'T distribute? Word of internet, ``that's how. And with the age of e-mail FORWARD and REPLY, it's much more reliable than word of mouth.
Jazz Festival:
Thurdsay, May 4th at the Municipal Auditorium. The show
starts at 9 PM and tickets are $35 and $45. 
I was hoping to meet someone who is actually FROM New Orleans that I could stay with during the Festival, but no such luck. I didn't meet ONE person from NO while I was there. Amazing, isn't it?
TECHIE JUNK:
They've
started selling Visors in local
retail stores. Wow!
They've
come a long way in a short period of time. I have even talked my
boss into purchasing one for his wife. Have you ever tried to synch Palm
OS with Groupwise?
Not an easy task. Why does everything have to revolve around
Microsoft? Well,....IT SHOULDN'T!
You know, with
everyone interested in tech stocks these days I would say that this
company would be a GREAT ONE to get in with on the IPO. AND,.....I
rumor is that a WOMAN is in charge! Go get 'em!

TRAVELING!:
I didn't make it to Smithville last year like I wanted to, but I am hoping to get to visit it sometime soon. It looks like such a wonderful place.
I
am,
however, on my way to New
York City! I met a great guy, Dan, who lives about 40 miles from
the city. He has invited me to take a tour of the City and
surrounding "quiet" surburbia of New York. I'm going in
May. I'm so lucky!
Everyone knows how much I have wanted to get away to New York City. Poor Dan is considering Iowa State University for his continuing education in the FABULOUS FIELD OF CIVIL ENGINEERING. (No bias, of course) I have tried to explain to him that he may be bored to tears.....he just thinks he'll get a lot of homework done. Ya' RIGHT, Dan!
Of
course,
there's always Dallas........
That great trip I had planned for a couple of weeks ago got quashed by
work. Too many places, too little time! Shit. Maybe next
time.

Well, I
know that everyone is disappointed with me because it has taken me so
damned long to
post those Mardi Gras pictures. But I am AGAIN in the process
of posting.
I have
received a lot of emails regarding some of these pictures. NO,
I am not posting any naked pictures. Sure, I got some, but this site
really isn't about that......And it kinda freaked me out, anyway...I AM
from Iowa after all.......
Did you notice the TRY THIS! link? Well, everyone is always asking me where I find all the crazy stuff that I do on the internet, so I decided to include one really cool link a week. I guess I don't really know HOW I find some of this stuff,......it just seems to pop up. I've even seen some of the neat sites I find listed in Lockergnome.
If you don't know what Lockergnome is, you should check it out. It's a great source of information and fun stuff for people who don't know the power of the internet. You can learn alot from this guy!
I don't know if everyone knows, but I started a new job two months ago with a civil engineering consultant firm in Des Moines. My job is amazing, and I haven't ever worked with such wonderful people. It has turned out to be the opportunity of a life-time! The two men that I work for, Perry & Eric, are so much more than anyone deserves in a boss. They're great!

Lexi is getting bigger EVERY DAY. And, unfortunately, she is developing a terrible habit of digging in my yard! Why? Well, I'm not sure. I am going to try and research this issue and find a cure. Does anyone know why my dog is digging up EVERY INCH OF MY YARD? Please clue me in. Maybe if I understood it I could fix it. Who knows.

funny. You know I bought Katie her own domain name for her
birthday. Well, I went a little crazy. This months Linux
Journal had a blurb about great domain names that haven't been
taken. So,.....we got http://www.linuxgoddess.com
I can't believe someone didn't snag this already!
Okay, okay, I know I'm not a linux goddess, but someday I may be. And in the mean time I wouldn't want someone stealing my fame and fortune....
Oh, guess what? I got some hate mail because of it! Someone in Hawaii spammed my guestbook, and left an irritated message regarding linuxchics.com. How funny, huh? Apparently she wants this domain. And she doesn't appreciate some "yuppy" stealing it.
