HARRY:

Harry has been in Australia these past few months filming "South Pacific" with Glenn Close, so there hasn't been a whole lot of information floating around about anything exciting that he's been up to.  There have been reports that the women on the set of "South Pacific" are completely enamored with him, and how handsome he looks in "uniform."  I'm SOOOooo jealous.

I haven't heard anything about Mardi Gras 2001, or if he will be attending.  I have been trying to motivate my friends into going again, but everyone is broke.  Fat Tuesday will be February 27th in 2001.  Which means everyone will only need to take 4 days off from work to spend a week in "paradise."  If anyone is interested in going with me again this year, let me know.  I am going to try and plan a trip.  However, the more people that group together the cheaper the trip is.  

I am also going to start pre-purchasing Orpheuscapade tickets.  Anyone who needs those and wants to group at a table needs to let me know.  Last year's trip was amazing!

TECHIE JUNK:

Well, I still love my Visor and since work has become hectic, I use it more than ever.  It has turned out to be one of my better investments.  

One of the neatest plug-ins to date, has to be the Handy GPS systems that they are developing.  I have pre-ordered one of the modules, but they keep pushing back the shipping dates.  These things are cool!

If you are looking for a particular piece of software for the Palm OS, let me know and I will see if I can help.  I know of TONS of sites.

LINUX:                        Linux Resources

This is funny.  You know I bought Katie her own domain name for her birthday.  Well, I went a little crazy.  This months Linux Journal had a blurb about great domain names that haven't been taken.  So,.....we got http://www.linuxgoddess.com   I can't believe someone didn't snag this already!  

Okay, okay, I know I'm not a linux goddess, but someday I may be.  And in the mean time I wouldn't want someone stealing my fame and fortune....

Oh, guess what?  I got some hate mail because of it!  Someone in Hawaii spammed my guestbook, and left an irritated message regarding linuxchics.com.  How funny, huh?  Apparently she wants this domain.  And she doesn't appreciate some "yuppy" stealing it.  

I laughed. ......JEALOUS?

M y trip to New York City was great.  But ever since I got back work has been crazy.  Since I work in the field of construction & development Spring to Fall is our busiest season.  It's been three months since I last updated my website, and I'm sorry for that.  I know that some of my more faithful friends visit quite often only to see the same crap! 

I am going to start staying on top of it, though, I promise!  

Work has been amazing.  I have been very busy, working on projects ranging from simple utility designs (which turn out not to be so simple) to huge residential developments.  I have started keeping a digital photo album of the progress of several of my projects.  I'm going to be cataloging them and keeping them updated as they develop.

We recently had a company outing to an Iowa Cubs game.  Our L.S., Murray Berting, made us all sing the Canadian fight song, or something, before we could eat our hotdogs.  And then he proceeded to run around the tailgate with a HUGE Canadian flag.  I guess he's Canadian or something........  He's a fruitcake.  

Jennifer doesn't really have any interest in returning to Mardi Gras 2001.  She has decided, instead, that she wants to take me on a "backpacking" tour of Europe...of sorts.  She went earlier this year, and had a blast!  She thinks it's time I experienced something beyond cornfields and Southern gentlemen.  She is going to be here this week to visit family & friends and we will be discussing it more at length.

And, as always, my friend, Matt Grabau, and I have been up to absolutely no good.  For being an old lady...and somebody's "mommy" I'm doing pretty well.  Matt and I have vowed to slow down and act more our age.....NEXT YEAR.

One of the neatest things we had the opportunity to do lately was go to our 10th High School Reunion.  Much to the dismay of many, none of us have really changed.  We had fun, though.  And it was really nice to see a lot of the kids from my graduating class.  Most of them I haven't seen SINCE graduation.

LEXI:

Lexi  has had a sad development.  Apparantly a few months ago (we're not really sure) she broke her leg.  Unfortunately for her, she's a real champ and didn't give any indication of being injured.  She just kept walking, running and jumping on her broken leg.  

In the mean time, the leg began healing;  a little incorrectly at that.  Sadly, by the time we noticed that something was amiss, it was too late.  Now, don't worry, Lexi is fine.  However, she will have a permanent disfigurement in her right leg.  It doesn't seem to bother her, but we worry about her alot. 

The vet said that we could operate to fix the problem, but the surgery would cost upwards of $2000, and an osteopathic surgeon would be needed.  We have a great vet school here in Iowa, but I think we're going to take the wait-and-see approach to the problem.  Say a prayer for her, and we'll keep on hoping that everything turns out of the best.
