MOM:

A couple of days ago I was sitting down to a VERY smart cocktail at my desk…when I decided that I needed a snack to go with it.   I was just preparing to settle into a long evening of eBay’ing and sheshe surfing.  Anyway, as I get up and go into the kitchen my big fat furry, smoochie kitty jumps down from the adjacent monitor to “come with me.”  Only problem is…..my cocktail and my laptop were in the way.   

Smoochie stopped short, just bumping into the aforementioned cocktail…..so quietly, in fact, that I didn’t even hear this little event take place. 

As I come back and sit down, snack in hand, eagerly anticipating my evening alone with Joe Jr. (laptop) and my drinking habit….I notice that something is AMISS!  OH SHIT!  My keyboard is floating in tasty pink fluid!  Crap.  My damned drink is down the laptop!  JOE JR. IS DROWNING! 

Needless to say, the next couple of hours entailed me taking apart Joe Jr. and trying to resuscitate him.  I had to take photos along my journey of love, just to make sure I COULD GET HIM PUT BACK TOGETHER!   It was a very tense time in my relationship with Joe Jr. AND smoochie kitty.  {bad, BAD kitty!} 

Anyway, after much rinsing, washing, baking and blow drying……and a few more cocktails, Joe Jr. was once again at my service (not with just a LITTLE amazement on my part!).  That cat almost lost it’s last life…….DEVIL. 

Anyway, once I got it working I thought all was copasetic.  However, when I got to work the following day I discovered that there were still some remaining “sticky keys.”  And being the anal retentive, somewhat OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE freak that I am, I needed to return Joe Jr. to total and complete perfection.    (That’s just the kind of girl I am.) 

So, the next night I decided to once again attack Joe Jr. with a vengeance and see what I could do for him.   Unfortunately, I was drinking faster than I was working……and ended up a little “confused”……..I ended up ripping off the keyboard, AND the touchpad assembly….. 

The last thing I remembered when I woke up at 5am the next morning, was thinking to myself ….”this isn’t happening to me…..I’ll go to bed and when I wake up I’m sure this was ALLLlllll  a dream…..”

 Only it wasn’t. 

So, since the pressure of needing to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in a few short hours was looming, I had to drag my tired ass out of bed and see what I could do to make nice with Joe Jr. so that he wouldn’t have to call in “sick to work.”

 After more than a FEW pieces of duct tape, some strategically placed “leftover” plastic pieces and a lot of PRAYER, Joe Jr. was, ONCE AGAIN, up and running.  (Again,……..amazement is ALL over my face…)

 So, the moral of this story is three fold…… 

1.             NEVER leave your cocktails un-attended when they are sitting RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR COMPUTER….

2.             Try and keep the cocktailing to a minimum when trying to do repairs on foreign electronics…..

3.             AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!  …..duct tape CAN fix anything!

Most of my friends are aware that my father finally got his liver transplant in January.  Everything went VERY well, with a few minor complications, and Dad is doing GREAT!  Thank you all for your prayers........We love you, DAD!

Jen came to visit over the holiday weekend, which was nice......AND SHE GOT A DOG!

Katie is officially done with school!  YA'!  She has been telling me that now that Kindergarten is wrapping up for the year..."TECHNICALLY she IS a first grader.....And that's a big DEAL!" 

I don't think she could get any cuter.

LEXI & CO.:

I don't think I'll ever learn my lesson......we got some new PETS!  AGAIN!   We will be posting some info and pictures in a couple of days..........

TECHIE JUNK:

My newest love?......JOE Jr.  I got a GREAT new laptop....and got sucked into Unreal Tournament 2003.....IT'S AWESOME!  I haven't been playing the games much, because with winter comes colds....and Katie's been a little under the weather lately, which means I have to swap free time for working.  :) 

I do love the laptop, though, because it has saved me so much time & effort, with taking work home, etc.
