MOM:

Katie and I made is safely to Arizona!  It's been a great experience so far.  The car ride took two days, and it was QUITE challenging with all of the animals.   Rob came with us on the trip, and his patience was tried many a time!  :)  And if you all didn't realize it, my best friend, Jennifer, lives here also.  That's her in the picture with me.  She's obsessed with yoga...... She's fruity like that!  But we love her!

Our new home is absolutely beautiful.  We're adjusting to the new space, but we're still trying to find a place for everything.  We're doing our best to make our new home a home!   As you can see from the photo, I'm getting a nice base-coat tan...... The pool is becoming my favorite place!

I have started getting into the swing of things at my job.  I am currently working on a 180-acre subdivision in Peoria, Arizona.  This project was started a year or so ago, and had some issues.  Now, myself and four others are trying to get everything to order.  It's a great first-project......quite challenging, and some days VERY frustrating, but a good project, all in all.

My co-workers are very talented, and I have learned a lot of amazing things about AutoCAD that I didn't know were possible.  Vince Florez, a designer, has a passion for automating AutoCAD like I've never seen in a person!  We have finished our first submittal and are awaiting comments.  WISH ME LUCK!

I am going to do what I can to update the site at least once every two weeks.  We take so many photos, and we'll do our best to post them.  I need to come up with a more efficient way to post them......I'll think on that. 

LEXI & CO.:

I have been pleasantly surprised at how the animals are transitioning to the warmer weather.  It truly is a dry heat here.......but it's STILL HOT! 

Lexi has been making herself MORE than comfortable.......which is so unlike her.......YA' RIGHT!  Unpacking has NOT been a priority for her.  As soon as the bed got here, and the food dishes were found, she needed a nap.  Good thing she's cute, because she sure wasn't much help!

We do love the weather, and Phoenix is such a beautiful place!  We have a lovely patio where Katie and Lexi can play to keep cool.......

I think everyone is aware by this point, but Chiefy recently had a litter of puppies with his girlfriend, Lehlani.  She's a looker, that one!  They had three puppies: two girls and one boy.  My parents have taken one of the puppies.  They had reluctantly agreed to provide fostercare for one of the little girls.....HOWEVER! ......Dad just couldn't seem to let her go. 

SO, now her name is Bridget and she is enjoying the comfort of dad's shirt pocket.  He takes her everywhere, even riding on his motorcycle!  I can't WAIT to see a picture of THAT!

NEWS: 

KATIE:

Katie has been attending a new school.  Her teacher, Mrs. Cates, is WONDERFUL!  We really LOVE Mrs. Cates.  Katie has been learning how to read, how to tell time, and how to count in 2's and 10's. 

It is truly amazing, watching her progress in reading books.  Her reading vocabulary has gone from 6 words to more than 67 in a matter of two weeks.  I am absolutely AMAZED at how quickly these kids are learning!  She isn't to the level that she would like yet.......Notice the War & Peace and Einstein's Quotables.  She has very high aspirations, so I am looking forward to seeing how this dream of her progresses!  I may have a small scientist on my hands.......

Katie recently celebrated her sixth birthday.....what a FUN TIME that was!   We took four of her friends to a nearby Peter Piper Pizza.  And for those of you who are not familiar with PPP, it's a kids MECCA of fun!  All the girls won lots of tickets, ate lots of pizza, and came home with smiles!

Katie is making friends quickly, and we are thankful for that.  A coworker lives nearby, & Katie and his son are having a good time learning to play Yu-Gi-Oh......whatever THAT is!

Katie is going to join the Brownie Scouts.  She's really looking forward to it.  It took some coaxing, however, due to the use of the word "meeting" when describing some of the activities associated with joining.  Given Katie's experience with council meetings and mommy's "business meetings" she had absolutely ZERO interest in attending any meetings herself. 

TECHIE JUNK:

Well, I'm STILL in love with the pink phone.  I think the phone gets more compliments that I do....no WAIT, I'm SURE OF IT!

Everyone always asks me where I got it, so here it is folks http://www.rushmobile.com  Rush Mobile is a cellular service provider in Manhattan.  Kimmora Lee Simmons, a clothing designer, designed the phone.  Apparently pink is her favorite color as well.  :)
